My Opinion:
This book was great. It was devastating and tragic but also full of heartwarming moments that truly made the book unique. It was an interesting read and I really enjoyed the style in which it was written. It opened up my mind to different ideas and situations that I would not have otherwise thought about. I would definitely recommend this book.

Outsider Opinion:
This book was a little confusing at first and a bit unrealistic, but I found great joy in reading it. It was fun and sad but it really took you to other places. I loved the plot and found it to be something I would recommend to anyone who enjoys reading. - Ceceilia McMicheals

Beauty Queens by Libba Bray

Summary:
A planeful of America's top teen beauty queens have met the unfortunate fate of being deserted on an unknown island due to a plane accident. In this comedy novel, the girls must unite as a team to stay alive. Many have died from impact, but those still alive have to set aside their differences and work together to thrive on the island. Until they find others, that is. The agents that reside on the island feel that the girls are just a glitch in their plans. They figure that in order for them to continue on with said plans, they need to dispose of them as quickly as possible.

My Opinion:
One word: Genius. This book is compelling and interesting. The plot is hilarious and the characters are all unique. I really enjoy the humor and voice this book has. The author really brought to life what it could have been like for the girls. I would definitely recommend this book!

A Heart for any Fate by Linda Crew

Summary:
The King family is moving west during the mid-1800's with a large group of other wagoners. The book is told through the perspective of Lavisa King, a 17 year old girl. Her family goes through many hardships to reach Oregon; illness, cold, hunger, and even death. By the time they reach their destination, they are barely alive, exhausted, and devastated at their losses. But they have made it to good soil, a place to start anew.

My Opinion:
Personally, this wasn't the book for me. I would have put it down after the first chapter if it hadn't been a class assignment. But, others in my class truly enjoyed the book. I can't explain that. I honestly believe that it could be easily described as boring, flat, gross, and stupid. I think it was that my favorite character met an unfortunate fate. Or maybe it was the piss-poor ending which so many of my classmates found "romantic and happy".  Whatever it was, I don't recommend this book.

PS. (It may have been the incest!
